After much thought, testing, designing, reworking, and finalizing... The name "Gold and Fire" came from a combination of ideas. It was a lot of fun coming up with an entire identity for our work and ideas. Here are some of the meanings behind the name and design...
Hi, my name is Jamie Gold, this is my last name! :)
The word “gold" in alchemy, describes success, illumination, ideas turning into reality.
The word “fire” describes the passion, energy and drive someone can have to do anything. Intrinsic motivation is the most powerful source of energy we have to create success in our lives.
Fire describes the WILL we have to complete something, it is an intangible, yet very real, phenomena
In ceramics, the word “fire” relates to the kiln. Ceramics are placed in the kiln at high temperatures, and in the firing process, the ceramics set and harden.
Some of The Symbols Within Our Logo Design:
The Open Eye: Being aware, awake, and mindful. Opening your eyes to life and enjoying it in the moment
The Circle with Central Dot: The alchemist symbol for gold or sun
The Triangle: The alchemist symbol for fire
The bow with an arrow: positive transition and hitting a target/goal. The arrow also represents "as within, so without" or "as above, so below".
The Crescent moon - having to do with the ebb and flow of the tides that effect us all, it is ying to the yang of the sun. This represents balance and harmony or opposites, creation/destruction, life/death, day/night, etc.
3 lines (The number 3): Past/present/future, harmony/wisdom/understanding, lucky number 3!
There may also be some other meanings that we haven’t thought of yet! Maybe you’ve thought of some? Feel free to share!
